Leo lynch delivered a turnkey semiconductor installation – the latest of many projects for Tyndall.

Turnkey installation of semiconductor and photonics tool-install for ultra-technology nano systems project within a state-of-the-art research facility

Since the completion of their first major project together in 2007, Leo Lynch has supported Tyndall with all subsequent semiconductor installations to date across the Cork campus. Works have included tool removal, move in and services hook up, all with minimal shutdowns within the live campus facility. 

For this ultra-technology nano systems project, Leo Lynch provided mechanical, process and electrical services installation for semiconductor and photonics tool-install. The project involved laboratory refurbishment and various semiconductor equipment including PVD, PECVD, ICPCVD. Services included ultra high purity gases, bulk gases, pure/ultra-pure water, acid and solvent wastes, and acid, solvent and general exhausts including all heating ventilation and Air Conditioning. All semiconductor tools were offloaded and positioned by Leo Lynch.

Leo Lynch delivered a comprehensive services upgrade to a semiconductor manufacturing facility, using BIM to model and coordinate the project prior to install.

Major process and mechanical services upgrade project for global leader in semiconductor manufacturing.

The project included installation of critical services, such as high purity gases, low purity gases, chemicals, slurries, acid waste, corrosive exhaust systems and process water systems. The project also involved sub-fab tool move-in, including expert off-loading, rigging and positioning.  

Leo Lynch designed the project via BIM, thereby completing 3D modelling and co-ordinating prior to install using AutoCAD Plant 3D and NavisWorks. Key systems installed included high purity stainless steel piping (316 electro-polished), fusion welded PVDF, Teflon coated ducting, PFA tubing, PVC and CPVC.
